Re: 2010

"Thousands are dead, hundreds more injured, a magnitude 7.0 earthquake has struck Haiti early into the New Year," This was one of the two things I had remembered over the course of 2010. It was devastating to hear about what had happened. 230,000 people died, 300,000 were injured, and more than a million became homeless. I had helped online by donating 5 dollars to the Help Foundation. More people were killed as a result of numerous aftershocks.

"The miners are stuck!" They have been down in a sealed mine for two months. 33 people in Chile have been sharing the space of a living room together, waiting to be rescued. Therapists were talking to the miners, until recently when a device similar to a bank teller tube brought them up one by one. One trapped miner was "dumped" by his wife due to her finding out about his mistress. All of them survived a mine shaft collapse during an earthquake. It was a glorious day when they came out.
